Apple Fritters

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  2. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.

  3. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix just until combined.

  4. Fold in diced apples.

  5. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).

  6. Drop batter by large spoonfuls into the hot oil, flattening slightly.

  7. Fry for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  8. Remove fritters and drain on paper towels.

  9. Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth and drizzle over warm fritters.

Tips and Variations

  • Keep apple pieces small so the fritters cook evenly.

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of allspice or cloves.

  • Fritters are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated briefly in the oven.
