Farmer’s-Style Casserole

Step 2: Assemble the Layers
Spread 6 cups of frozen shredded hash browns into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with 2 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese, 2 cups diced ham, and 1/2 cup chopped green onions.

Step 3: Mix the Custard
Whisk together the 8 eggs, both cans of evaporated milk, 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Pour this evenly over the layered ingredients.

Step 4: Bake
Cover and refrigerate overnight if you want to prep ahead.

  • If cooking immediately: Bake uncovered for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the center is firm.
  • If baking after chilling overnight: Bake uncovered for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until fully set.
